Online Rap and Hip Hop Beat Maker

,
Hip Hop Beat Programs :

Picking the right hip hop beat maker or production software is important when you want to start making beats. Some tools are too simple and limits you creativity, while others are too overwhelming and limits your creativity with its excessive complexity.

Online Rap and Hip Hop Beat Maker

There are a lot of beat makers available on the market. You have the MPC that works even without the computer; you have tools you need to install and online tools that let you work on their server.
Some of these are more complex than others.

If you are an experienced producer I would recommend you try the different software systems for installation. I do have not much experience with these types of tools myself, as I have only been making hip hop beats for a year. I have tried to work with a few of them and it was very confusing.

Personally I prefer an online rap and hip hop beat system. While not as complex as the ones you have to install, they let you start right away making beats. However, there are some important elements you need to consider before investing in such a system.

What to Consider When Choosing an Online Hip Hop Beat Maker

The first thing you need to look into is the ease of use. If it is too advanced you will be spending weeks if not months trying to get a grasp on what everything on the beat maker can do for you. More often than not, you will get confused and eventually give up.

On the other hand you need to ensure yourself that the online beat production system will not limit you when you are working on your hip hop beats. If the beat maker has too few instruments or beat elements you can often be limited in making the hip hop beat the way you imagined it to be.

The beat maker also needs to be advanced enough. Does it have enough track sequencers for your need? Can you adjust the tempo of the beat or the sound of each track line?

A great online hip hop beat maker also needs to give you the option to record using a piano or pad function.

Electronic Music Software - How To Choose One? 3 Simple Points

,
Hip Hop Beat Programs :

If you are trying to find the most suitable electronic music software for your needs, then this article presents you some criteria to assist you in this decision. Picking a specific software may seem like a difficult task, especially due to the unique set of features and tools contained in each program. However, by evaluating some crucial aspects, it is possible to narrow down the choices. Here are three simple points to start with.

Electronic Music Software - How To Choose One? 3 Simple Points

1. Do you have earlier musical training?

In case you have no earlier musical training, it is vital that you pick an electronic music software that does not require you to feel at home with music theory. FL Studio and DUBturbo are two examples of relatively simple-to-use programs, that anyone can start playing around with.

While being capable of producing professional quality results, their overall layout consists of a pattern-based sequencer. This is an intuitive way for inserting MIDI notes and combining loops, allowing you to create music with ease, even if you have no prior understanding of music composition and theory.

2. Are you interested in producing mainly sample-oriented beats, or is your music also going to contain a variety of acoustic instruments?

If you are interested in producing music that is made of smaller repetitive musical motives, and involves mainly electronic sounds, such as in R&B, hip-hop, and trance, then look for a digital audio workstation that includes a sequencer, a sampler, and has a support for MIDI and VST instruments. These features ensure that you can easily create sample-oriented music.

However, you may also need the suitability for working with acoustic instruments. There are such electronic music genres as IDM (aka Intelligent Dance Music), and new age music, which in addition to MIDI-based instruments, involve also natural instruments. In this case, programs like Cubase, Ableton Live, and Reason, would be a better choice, since they enable you to use sequencer-based MIDI, as well as record and edit audio with ease.

3. Do you know the technical aspects of getting your compositions sound professional?

It may be that you have some earlier musical training, and have a solid base in music theory. But producing a beat that sounds professional, is not so often about the theoretical aspects of song structure and complex harmonies, but about tweaking your sounds and instruments in a way that makes them sound professional. You may have noticed how punchy, fat, and rich sound those beats made by top producers - these technical skills give their songs this highly sought-after sound.

Technical execution is an important factor in electronic music, and depending on the genre, it may make up more than 90% of a professional result. Therefore, if you are new to these tricks and tactics, try looking for an electronic music software that has enough online support, so that you have easy access to all the knowledge you need.

Jurassic 5 - J5 Re-Issue Album Review

,
Hip Hop Beat Programs :

Now this is golden age hip hop. Now, of course this Jurassic 5 LP came out post the second golden age 1993-1996... But let's forget about a number and year, and agree that it doesn't matter because it's a sound perfectly reminiscent of the era. The current re-issue of this classic 1998 LP does it all by taking it back to sing-along choruses, funky-as-hell beats, and simple, yet dope, rhymes.

Jurassic 5 - J5 Re-Issue Album Review

Formed in 1993 out of Los Angeles, California back when hip hop was sort of new to the mainstream and the airwaves were soaked by the grunge rock sounds of Nirvana and the like, Jurassic 5 had a unique sound that nobody had ever heard before. The combination of founders Chali 2na, Akil, Zaakir, Mark 7, DJ Nu-Mark, and DJ Cut Chemist brought the world a very refreshing and catchy new beat.

As a very big old school head, nothing makes me happier then to see re-issues that treat the original release with respect, as well as add something new that we didn't see the first time round. (Yes, I read linear notes and expect them with each album I buy) A lot of thanks must be given to Decon Records, as they were the ones who rescued it from being out of print since 2004.

The first disc of the Re Issue covers 13 tracks. Over these tracks J5 make full use of their two DJs to cut some solid beats. All the members in J5 in turn have flows that are up there with Guru from Gang Starr. And contrary to most of the auto tune "artists" these days, these guys can actually perform that forgotten act of singing when they want to as well, making good use of it on the refrains of the tracks.

In addition to the original EP, J5 Deluxe Re-Issue includes the extra material tacked on to create 1998's J5 full-length LP and a bonus disc of exclusive and rare tracks, such as radio freestyles and B Sides. It also comes with a documentary called The Jurassic Period, 30-minutes of performance footage in the form of Jurassic 5 at Brixton Academy, and the video for Concrete Schoolyard.

Besides the obvious classic, Concrete Schoolyard, the two other stand-out tracks are Jayou and Lesson 6. The former is a straight up braggadocio cut on top of a nice flute sample. Lesson 6, on the other hand, is a DJ jam by Cut Chemist and is pretty infamous among fans of the decks. Cut Chemist took some old educational records and threw samples of a lecturer speaking into the mix to narrate his own progression as the song develops. Listeners who aren't into DJ cuts may find this 6-minute cut a bit too much, but for those that appreciate the field, they'll love it.

Like the Mass Appeal: Best of collection of Gang Starr released last year, it's often not until today, that we can properly appreciate yesterday. Ten years later and few producers have the knowledge of records demonstrated by Cut Chemist, the mix and programming techniques employed by Nu-Mark, the flow of Chali 2na or the collective harmonic chemistry that J5 brought.

Software for Beat Making

,
Hip Hop Beat Programs :

There are numerous types of software for beat making that one can find on the internet. A quick Google search reveals over nine million results, some of them are even free to use. Many already feature hundreds of high quality sounds and beats, with very simple to access menus.

Software for Beat Making

Which is your general interest
Before one begins to search for this particular kind of application, it would be beneficial if he has a general interest in beat-boxing, rapping, hip hop or rhythm and blues, or at least have experience with music making programs in general. Otherwise, it will be difficult to work with this particular software.

Make a good research
Before selecting a particular beat making program, one should carefully review all the choices available. Be thorough in your search and look for particular features like user-friendliness, number of sound samples or instruments, tutorials, and third party reviews. If the software is for sale, compare it with other similar programs and see which is more competitive. Sometimes the free programs, although smaller than the commercial programs, will be more than enough for most users. For beginners, it is recommended that they start with the free downloads until they are capable enough to use the higher end software.

Check compatibility with your computer
Once you have selected your desired software, it is important to look at the program's compatibility with your own computer and operating system. Usually, users will complain that the beat making software does not work when in fact the user's system might be an older version, or his computer's hardware might not be up to speed. It is thus very important to first check your PC to ensure that all the program's requirements are met. To make you beat making easier, make sure your computer has higher specifications than the required minimum.

When installing the software
Installing the software will usually take only a few minutes. From there, open the program and take your time in exploring its interface and features. Test all the sound samples and try to make your own trial beats. Starting with new programs usually takes some getting used to, but users will find that the best programs will have very accessible features and that they make it easy for anyone to make their own beats.

Avoid boring
After some time has passed, the user may begin to feel bored or even disheartened by his own mediocre work. Although the software may offer a wide selection of music and samples, creating your own beat is difficult. The user should widen his exposure and listen to other people's beats. Youtube will most definitely have a lot of samples to choose from. Casually exploring the site will offer new inspiration to the user in his own beat making work.

Share your beats
Sharing your work with others will also help you create new beats. The software creator will usually offer an online forum or file sharing service for you to upload your work to share with friends. The real feature of most of these programs is being able to share your new music with people from around the world. In this manner, you get to make new friends and listen to new beats.

Keep the software updated
If you have already used your beat making program for some time, it is possible that your version might not be the latest release. Some companies periodically update their programs every few months. The typical software for beat making will usually last a year before being updated by the creators. It is thus very important to periodically check the company's website or their online forums for announcements regarding updates. If the user is diligent and the software is up to date, it is possible for him to create newer, longer and better beats for a long time.

Indoor Cycling Will Jump Start Your Exercise Routine

,
Hip Hop Beat Programs :

Looking for a good workout, try indoor cycling. A very popular workout, it is an incredible calorie burn and best of all, you do it at a self-directed pace. People either love it or hate it, and it's not for everyone. Here are a few tips to help you include indoor cycling your exercise routine.

Indoor Cycling Will Jump Start Your Exercise Routine

First, my disclaimer, I am not an instructor, trainer or fitness guru of any sort. I work out to stay healthy. Actually, my fitness levels have done a 180 more than a few times in my life. Getting back into a healthy workout routine can be difficult. Sometimes we create obstacles to avoid exercising. I realized that the obstacle I created to avoid indoor cycling was probably holding others back as well. Hopefully these tips will help motivate you past your obstacles.

Indoor cycling is conquered with the thought "mind over matter". Once you start the ride, you'll see what I mean. It is a very physical work out so make sure you set your bike up to fit your body before class starts. This will help eliminate the first obstacle, discomfort. The bikes generally have a narrow seat called the saddle. There are cushioned seat covers and padded pants that you can buy, but they can't replace proper positioning. Make sure your seat position and handlebars are good for your height. And, while riding, keep your body weight over your hips and not over your handlebars. This will reduce the likelihood of undue pressure on the knees and other joints. Bike positioning is key to your comfort. It allows the mind to really surpass matter.

Second, go with the music. Most, if not all indoor cycling classes are conducted with pulsating music. Connect the music to the instructors resistance scale. Don't get caught up in trying to understand their scale right away, just understand that the amount of resistance you put on the bike correlates with the road. During the class the instructor might take you on imaginary trails and paint a picture of flat road, rolling hills, and mountain tops. Or, your instructor might do speed drills. Adjust your resistance so that you keep peddling regardless of the road or drill. Everyone will get to the same place at the same time.

Finally, let the beat or genre become a motivator and not an obstacle. The music may change from hip hop to country to new wave etc. without notice. Some instructors have a knack for programing the music to fit their workout style, but often it depends on the instructor's musicality. The instructor will crank up the music and off you go. Crank your peddles to the beat, adding or reducing resistance with the beat in each song. This removes the obstacle of fitness over form. Everyone has a different level of fitness from beginner to expert and everything in-between. Focus on you and know that no one is paying attention to your work out anyway. Indoor cycling is self-directed. Advanced cyclers and mid-level cyclers are focused on their next challenge.

When just starting out in indoor cycling, put mind over matter. Focus on comfort, music and fitness. Enjoy the work out and reap the benefits to your health.

7 Tips for Becoming a Better Basketball Player

,
Hip Hop Beat Programs :

Secret #1 Develop Skill Synergy
The fastest way to get better is to learn and practice the fundamental skills. Fundamental skills like passing, catching, shooting, dribbling and basic footwork are as much responsible for basketball success as any cross-over move or behind-the-back dribble.

7 Tips for Becoming a Better Basketball Player

When you work on and advance your fundamental skill levels, you can develop what I call "Skill Synergy". Skill Synergy is based on the idea that the better you become at any one particular skill, the better and more developed you will become at each and every other skill. Then with the development of each skill, your entire game becomes almost twice as effective as it was before. Each skill doesn't just work alone it "stacks" or builds on every other skill. This "synergy" then catapults your game into more advanced levels and makes success in basketball much easier.

For example, if you become better at dribbling, it will automatically make you a better shooter. The dribbling will help you get a better feel for the ball and make you feel more comfortable with the ball. That will automatically help you become a better shooter. But the "synergy" doesn't stop there. The result is you don't just become a better dribbler or a better shooter, instead you become a more effective all-around player. The synergy starts filtering out to all phases of your game.

Your entire game will expand quickly because you can expand on each skill learned. That will flow into other areas of skill development. Soon you will be able to do more moves, make more shoots and play more effectively than ever before.

Take Michael Jordan for example. All of his high-flying acrobatic moves and game winning shots were not practiced or planned. Instead, they just happened "naturally" because he had become a master of the simple fundamental skills and applied Skill Synergy to make all those spectacular shots. Remember, however that most of his 32,292 points were compromised mainly of basic fundamental jump shots and lay-ins. Not the SportsCenter highlights he is remembered for. He mastered the basics first, then all those "fancy" moves developed from there.

If you want to become better, learn the fundamentals and practice them. Every skill you learn and develop will help you expand your game to new levels.

Secret #2 Practice The Right Way
One day I was "practicing" and my coach at the time walked by the gym and asked what I was doing. I said I was "practicing". Then I added, "you know coach, because practice makes perfect".

Then he said something very powerful to me. He said "No. Perfect practice, makes perfect."

Him telling me this gave me tremendous insight into what it takes to become a better player. I quickly learned that how you practice and how you perform are directly linked.

By developing Perfect Practice habits and mentality, you can take your game to new levels at a rapid pace.

The wonderful thing about the Perfect Practice mentality is that you can use it at anytime. It doesn't matter if you are just shooting around with friends or are doing a grueling individual workout. The principles can and should be applied at all times.

Here are my Perfect Practice Principles:

Use Maximum Effort and Focus On Every Play.

Perfect Repetition, Leads To Perfect Execution.

Repetition Is The Key To Skill Improvement.

Practice Must Simulate Games.

Constantly Analyze Your Results.

Study and use these principles. These principles will save you hours of unnecessary frustration and wasted practice time. Your game will develop at a significantly faster pace and help you reach your maximum potential.

Secret #3 Add Variety
The great thing about basketball is that you can either play on your own or with other people. Basketball can be played in so many ways. Each can help you develop your skills in different ways.

To become the best basketball player you can be, it is important that you practice the game in a variety of ways. Your skills will enhance and you will see faster development.

Here are some ways to add variety to your game:

Practice By Yourself
This is the best way to learn the fundamentals of the game and to develop individual skills. You should spend lots of time by yourself working on different fundamental skills. Get in all the repetitive learning and practice you can with just you and the ball.

1-on-1
Playing 1-on-1 will help you learn how to both score on and defend against a single player. 1-on-1 is a great way to get in lots of repetitions and practice. It is also a great place to use both Skill Synergy and Perfect Practice techniques.

3-on-3
Lots of outdoor or "street" ball tournaments are played using the 3-on-3 format. This provides you with great opportunity to get in even more work on your game. 3-on-3 probably gives you the closet thing to real game simulation without having to run the full length of the floor. You can develop both 1-on-1 moves and learn to play in a team concept while still getting in a good number of personal repetitions.

5-on-5 Full Court
Obviously this is what most "real" games consist of. I recommend that you play as much 5-on-5 as possible. This is the best way to learn the game and develop your total skill package. It is also the best measure of telling you what you need to work on and what areas you need to improve in. If you don't feel that you are able to score very often then maybe you should do some more 1-on-1 drills or learn to score off the pass in games of 2-on-2.
Playing 5-on-5 will also help your conditioning. Most 5-on-5 games are played using the full court, the others are usually in a half-court setting. Having to run the full length of the court will challenge your skill development because you add in the element of fatigue. The better conditioned you are and the less fatigue you encounter, the more successful your skills will be. Be sure to learn the skills you need by practicing in half-court games. Remember, that you need to develop your conditioning to achieve maximum results when playing in full-court games.

Secret #4 Seek Out Mentors and Be Coach-able
One of the biggest secrets to becoming more successful is to seek out mentors and be willing to learn from them.

Many times people are reluctant to seek out mentors and coaches, because it opens them up to being criticized. However, you can learn a lot from that criticism if you are willing to accept it. If you want to be more successful at anything, then you must find the right teachers and be willing to learn from them and be coached.

This is especially true in the game of basketball. There are lots of great coaches and players out there that you can learn from.

Another key to success is, don't wait for theses coaches to find you. Instead, be assertive and go out and find them on your own. No matter what level of play you are at, there are lots of people out there that can make you better. It can be a coach, a personal trainer, even a nutritionist; all of these people have valuable information that can make you a better player and a better athlete.

To get the maximum results from this instruction, you must be willing to learn and be coached. I can tell you that virtually every big time basketball coach I have ever talked to says that the one trait that all their "star" players possess is their willingness to learn and listen.

The ability of the human mind and body to learn and process new information is remarkable. If you want to develop your skills to maximum level, then you find people to coach you and listen to them!

Secret #5 Watch All The Video You Can
Watching video is one of the best ways that I know of to get better and learn more about the game. With today's modern technology, video is easy to get and use. I highly recommended that you get your hands on as much video you can and learn from it.

There are lots of different types of video that you can learn from. First of all, there are all kinds of games broadcast on television. It is easy to tape these games and watch them over and over again. I personally have over 400 games on tape. This has become one of my most valuable resources. I have learned, used, and taught thousands of moves that I have gotten from re-watching games.

Another great resource is instructional videos. There are a lot of different tapes that have been made through the years. Many have much of the same information, but it is important to learn those key fundamentals. Plus, even if you watch 10 videos and only learn one new move, that move could lift you from being an average player to superstar status. (For more information on instructional videos, be sure to check out my personal Dominate The Game instructional DVD video and basketball improvement program at [http://www.basketballpro.com/dominatethegame].)

There is one other video secret that I am almost reluctant to reveal. I find this technique so powerful and helpful that it is just too good to keep secret. It is very simple, but rarely used.

It's called Self Video Analysis. Many times coaches or parents will make tapes of games and watch them to critique the teams performance or to relive a personal sports moment. This is very useful for this purpose, but it isn't the kind of video analysis that I am talking about. I am talking about taping yourself when you practice by yourself.

When you are alone working on your game by yourself, tape it. Tape it and watch it. It doesn't take long to see what you need to work on. This also allows you to start seeing little tiny adjustments in your game and start correcting them. Even little errors can lead to bad habits which can negatively effect your performance.

I especially like to use this technique when working on shooting. Shooting is almost a fine art. Any minor problem can lead to a drop in the amount of shots you make. Tape your shooting practice and then analyzing it. Watch to see if you are using proper form and technique on every shot. Watch and see what is working for you and what isn't. Watch and you will soon see a dramatic improvement in your shooting performance.

Secret #6 Learn From Different Sources
Basketball is a very popular sport. There are all kinds of books, videos, magazines and newspaper articles out there for you to learn from.

I recommended that you start finding and studying as many as these resources that you can. You will be amazed at all the useful information that you can learn from these sources. I find some "piece" of useful information in almost everything I read, watch, or hear about the game.

The most successful basketball players and coaches I know are constantly reading books on basketball. They read autobiographies on famous players. They read instructional books. They read books on training, books on motivation, books on other sports to see if they can learn something to apply to basketball and make them more successful. These high level coaches and players know that learning from all these different sources is a key to staying on top.

I also know of players that have made entire scrapbooks from newspaper articles that they collected about other teams and players. Then before they would play against them, they would read to be better prepared and to gain an "edge" against them.

I recommended that you start your own "basketball file" and collect or write down all the things you find useful. You can then look at them over and over again and apply them to your game. (Note: Printing out and saving this newsletter is a good place to start you new "basketball file".)

Secret #7 Become A Better Athlete
I am a firm believer that skill development goes hand-in-hand with athletic development. The better trained you are as an athlete the easier it is for you to develop your basketball skills.

Most athletes struggle not because they lack proper skill, but because they lack the strength, conditioning, and speed that it requires to perform those skills at a higher level. Many times pro athletes aren't any better shooters or players than some junior high players, but their athletic ability separates them from the rest.

One of the great benefits of training to become a better athlete is that you can often make significant jumps in skill development very quickly. The better trained you are, the faster you will be able to learn new skills. When you're well trained you can perform skill repetition at maximum speed, strength and conditioning. When you do this, it naturally allows you to develop your game quickly, because your body isn't holding you back with fatigue. In fact, having a well-trained body is helping you succeed because it just makes every thing easier and allows you to learn faster.

Let me give you a good example. Say that you were in good enough shape to shoot around for 1 hour. In this time, let's say you could shoot 200 shots. Now if you were in even better shape you could probably shoot around 300 shots. That's 100 shots more in the same amount of time. This would undoubtedly make you better! Plus, out of those 300 shots, you will make more of them because you are better trained!

Do you see how your game can grow on multiple levels just by training your body? It can have a positive impact in each phase of your game and your development.

I highly recommended that you start training to become a better athlete immediately. There are lots of different programs and training routines out there. Give it a try and watch your results soar!

I hope that these tips were helpful. I am sure that if you start applying these strategies to your game, you will see the results you want very quickly.

Free Recording Software And How To Use It

,
Hip Hop Beat Programs :

These days, it seems as if just about everyone wants to be involved with the music industry in some way. While not everyone has the desire to be the next chart topper, it seems as if more people want to be notable for their contributions with music, especially considering the landscape these days. With sites like YouTube, it means just about everyone can be a star if they have the talent, which has really been something cool, although people will need somewhere to start. Free recording software is a great idea, as people don't want to spend the hundreds or thousands of dollars on equipment that won't necessarily come along with a return on investment.

Free Recording Software And How To Use It

The Benefit of Using Free Software

Outside of the benefit of it being something that you don't have to pay for, there are other assorted reasons why everyone should experience free versions that help record or make beats for free. One of the biggest would be, people that are using free software generally aren't versed with music production, and this is a good way for a person to get their feet wet. While not every piece of software is the same, most of them have some pretty big similarities that allow people to switch from one program to another without too much hassle involved. Normally, starting with free software will only utilize the bare essentials, but it makes for an excellent start, as you don't have to worry about being too confused or overwhelmed with a lot of options.

Another would be the actual potential that many pieces of free software actually have. More often than not, a person can reasonably expect for their software to come without any limitations. Most people choose to download trial versions of popular software, and while this may come as a shock to some - many of the developers generally have small limitations on their product, such as disabling the save feature. While that may sound like a bummer, it still allows for the person to export the file. While this isn't necessarily true for all, there are a few that offer this. Considering the amazing things that the free recording software can do, this is something that's easy to get over, as they're powerful enough to do just about anything.

Deciding to try your hand at music is a fantastic thing, but we all know that recording software can cost hundreds, if not thousands of dollars. Most aspiring musicians aren't exactly raking in the dough yet, so it's best to have something that allows for a person to record and make beats for free. Fortunately enough, there are a plethora of different programs that allow for this. With the help of a free program, you'll be able to increase your proficiency in the program, allowing you to gauge yourself before you decide whether or not this is something that you want to pursue. Buying expensive programs isn't the best idea initially, especially if there are some great sounding programs that allow for music production without shelling out a single cent.

Things You Need To Know Before Creating Your Own Beats

,
Hip Hop Beat Programs :

Creating your own beats is no longer such a big deal especially with all the free online programs and computer soft wares that are no longer few and far between. With the help of these soft wares, creating music has never been the same. Most of these programs offer a virtual music studio that can mix your chosen beats and turn it into beautiful sounds that serve as music in the ears. All music enthusiasts especially those who like the rap and hip-hop genre so much will consider it a milestone to have these tools available within our reach. Surely, there is not a dream sweeter than coming up with your very own beats, sell it to the top musical producers, and have your creation sell like hot cake! But before you do anything drastic, there are things you need to know before creating your own beats.

Things You Need To Know Before Creating Your Own Beats

The first thing you need to know before creating your own beats is to learn how to be creative. Remember that the first thing the music producers are looking for in music is the distinction. It should be unique. It helps that you have a background in music especially in your chosen genre like hip-hop or rap. It is more than okay if you are a fan of a famous rap or hip hop artist. But it is definitely not okay to use the artist's pattern, or beat sequencing. Be original. Create beats that the listening public will gladly call it as your own.

Patience is a virtue, as the old maxim goes. This old saying should also be applied when creating your own beats. It takes more than a sharp ear, when creating your own beats. More than anything, patience is essential, next only to creativity, when mixing beat synchronization. This is especially true when you want to achieve the perfect sound. It is true that the beat-making soft wares offer a whole variety of beat combination. But do not settle for just another generic sound. Create your own brand. And you can do that with the help of patience. Learn to do and undo each beat and interval until you hit the right sound. Learn to experiment on different musical instruments, never settling for anything that sounded just okay. Lastly, patiently add the right effects for a livelier beat. Work on creating a great sound to compose the perfect music.

The Best Karaoke Songs Of 2011 - Country And Pop

,
Hip Hop Beat Programs :

Another year has passed us by so it's a good time to review the year and see what songs top the sales for the year 2011. As mentioned in our review last year, there are similar reviews. Ours is different in that it shows what people wanted to sing last year and not just what they wanted to listen to. No review can be completely accurate but we feel the following lists give a good review of the best music that came out in 2011 and that karaoke singers were requesting.

The Best Karaoke Songs Of 2011 - Country And Pop

2011 Top Karaoke Pop Songs

#1 - Rolling In The Deep - Adele (Many people assume Adele to be a black singer because of the sound of her voice but she's not. What you hear from her are powerful vocals with the feel of emotion behind every note. That is exactly what a good singer wants from a song. The challenge for any singer with 'Rolling In The Deep' is matching the emotion and feeling that Adele puts in her original version. Of course you can get away with not being able to match Adele's vocal quality and still please your audience if you're a six year old girl singing this song with all your heart, as did Alexa Narvaez on YouTube with currently over 13 million views.)

#2 - Someone Like You - Adele (Yes, Adele comes in with the top two Pop songs for 2011. 'Someone Like You' speaks of a person coming to terms with the fact that her past lover has moved on. She wishes him the best and sings that she will find 'someone like you', claiming to have come to terms with the status of their break-up but obviously revealing otherwise. Perhaps this song became so popular because most of us have had our hearts broken in the same way that this song relates.)

#3 - Party Rock Anthem - LMFAO with Lauren Bennett & Goonrock (Well I thought LMFAO must be a band, with possibly each letter of this group's name representing one of their members. Man, am I ever out of the loop. LMFAO is an acronym for Laughing My Freaking Ass Off. LMFAO is actually a duo composed of Motown founder's Berry Gordy's youngest son Stefan aka Redfoo and his grandson Skyler aka SkyBlu. The song was one of the most popular dance songs of the year. If it's fun to dance to then it must be fun to sing.)

#4 - On The Floor - Jennifer Lopez & Pitbull (If anybody remembers the Lambada from 1989 then you'll no doubt notice the borrowed beat for the main riff. What can we expect for J-Lo's next big single? Maybe a reworking use of the main riff from 'Islands In The Stream' or 'Afternoon Delight'.)

#5 - You And I - Lady Gaga (Unlike most of Lady Gaga's tunes and maybe just a shade less successful as some of Gaga's dance songs, this tune was highly requested as a karaoke song. 'You And I' is a bluesy, rock and country inspired ballad that mildly samples the classic Queen song 'We Will Rock You'.)

#6 - Moves Like Jagger - Maroon 5 with Christina Aguilera (This song has a catchy hook and was popular among the karaoke crowd, and what has made it more appealing is that it is a female/male duet.)

#7 - Mr. Know It All - Kelly Clarkson (The original American Idol is still going strong five studio albums later. This song once again capitalizes on strong vocals and the hook 'you don't know a thing about me' will stay in your head long after the last note of the song is played.)

#8 - Lighters - Bad Meets Evil & Bruno Mars (Bad Meets Evil is a duo consisting of rappers Royce da 5'9" and Eminem. This duo actually was formed before Eminem gained his mainstream popularity in 1999, they broke up and now have since reunited. The song 'Lighters' is an alternative hip-hop song, different from hard core rap, especially with the added vocals of Bruno Mars.)

#9 - We Found Love - Rihanna (Rihanna once again hits the top of the charts with a catchy dance song. Many versions of this song also list Calvin Harris in the credits but we have not heard a duet version or any version that feature vocals other than Rihanna's.)

#10 - I Do - Colbie Caillat (Like Colbie Caillat's first single Bubbly, this song is a feel good, happy-go-lucky sunny day song that speaks of taking relationships to the next level. A perfect tune for the optimistic romantic.)

Honorable Mention:

Mistletoe - Justin Bieber (Some people may wonder why Justin Bieber is once again not on the top 10. He also didn't make the top ten with any of his songs in 2010, possibly because although his songs have a broad appeal, when it comes to singing them there will be a much smaller audience. Collectively karaoke versions of his songs sold more than any other artist in 2011; Justin Bieber was the best selling Karaoke artist of 2011. The late season release of 'Mistletoe' nearly made the top 10. It was highly requested in late November and December. Many long for a fresh, new holiday song and this song filled that need precisely.)

Top 2011 Karaoke Country Songs

#1 - Dirt Road Anthem - Jason Aldean (This song talks about country life but adds a little 'country rap' in the mix. Very popular tune and choice for karaoke singers.)

#2 - Just Fishin' - Trace Adkins (This song is about a father and daughter fishing together. Another feel good country song that pulls on your heart strings.")

#3 - Country Girl (Shake It For Me) - Luke Bryan (This song is quite different from the earlier hit by Luke Bryan 'Rain Is A Good Thing'. The title should be a dead giveaway that this song is not a ballad or a story song. It is a coming-right-at-you dance tune that caught on and became one of the most requested country songs to sing.)

#4 - Hell On Heels - Pistol Annies (There are some songs that are country cross overs; songs that can be played on both the Pop Charts and the Country Charts. Not this song, it's definitely country. The Pistol Annies make a statement of a woman's wrath, singing 'sugar daddy I'm comin' for you'. )

#5 - You Lie - The Band Perry (Another country tune about an unhappy relationship. You lie like a Persian rug, like a coon dog basking in the sun, like a penny in the parking lot. It seems many a country song is about that bitter feeling that one gets when they find out that their significant other isn't so significant and people just love to sing about it.)

#6 - Honey Bee - Blake Shelton (This catchy tune did well on the Billboard 100 as well as going Number 1 on the country charts. The broad appeal of the song (and the fact that people were singing it) helped put it into the top ten of our list.)

#7 - Barefoot Blue Jean Night - Jake Owen (This song reminisces about the fun one had on his southern summer barefoot blue jean night. His buddy Frankie got hooked up with a Cadillac with horns on the hood! )

#8 - Story Of Us - Taylor Swift (an upbeat tempo song that by it's title might indicate the song would be about a happy relationship. Unfortunately the chorus is 'the story of us is a tragedy now.')

#9 - This Is Country Music - Brad Paisley (Though not as commercially successful as some of Brad Paisley's earlier hits, 'This Is Country Music' epitomizes what many feel a country song is all about. Country music fans can take pride in that their music often has some substance in it's lyrics or message, which is not the norm with a pop tune.)

#10 - Just A Kiss - Lady Antebellum (Lady Antebellum songs are very popular in the karaoke world because of their duet capability. The way that Charles Kelley and Hillary Scott effortlessly switch lead vocals in their original renditions make many singers want to do the same in the karaoke versions. The challenge is finding two singers with the same vocal abilities of Lady Antebellum's lead singers.)

So, once again, another year has given us a slew of new music. So you, the karaoke singer, need to stop singing the same old tune. You don't want to subject the crowd to one more time of singing the same song that you sing week after week, no matter how good you sing that song. There is plenty of new karaoke music to choose from. Sometimes it may seemed that there is no good new music out there. However it may seem that way because you've gotten into the habit of listening to your 'iPod' with your pre-selected choices in music. Start making it a habit of listening to radio or turning on a music channel more often, then you're going to find plenty of new selections to choose from.

How to Choose the Right Beat Making Software For Your Needs

,
Hip Hop Beat Programs :

Do you adore Rap music or Hip Hop? Have you at any time considered about producing your own sounds but not actually known the way to get started off? Well getting going these days is actually a lot easier than you believe as just about all you will need to do is down load some beat producing software off the web, check out a handful of tutorials and essentially begin playing with the sounds!

How to Choose the Right Beat Making Software For Your Needs

As the majority of musicians and artists will tell you, the key element to an amazing hip hop song is really a killer beat. But what most performers won't explain to you, or may well not actually know themselves, is the key to a monster beat isn't specifically highly-priced beat making software, these days you can in reality generate your own beats with inexpensive software that produces professional music!

In the past, software packages was quite costly, but thanks to awesome improvements in technology, this type of software package is more affordable for new performers looking to enter into the music business. Of course, it's not a good idea to merely go onto the Internet and download the very first program you discover.

When picking a web site to buy your software package through, you will find a number of points you'll need to look for. First, start looking for suppliers that offer free of charge trial periods or money back guarantees. If the website doesn't provide either of these items on the beat producing software it is selling, there is a reason, which is probably the program is poor quality. And when looking for money back guarantees, it's best to find a website that provides them through a 3rd party company, so that you can be completely certain you'll get your money back should you don't like the software.

In addition to these things, you'll additionally want to make sure the seller offers users manuals. Whether they are in the style of e-books or videos, knowing how to use your beat producing software package is really a necessity. After all, what good is software if you don't know how to use it? One last thing to look for when deciding on software are cost-free upgrades, or at minimum reasonably priced ones. A good beat making program is well worth the financial investment, but shouldn't be ordered unless you feel convinced the merchant is willing to back up the program one hundred percent. If you don't feel this way, then you'll absolutely need to find a different vendor to purchase from - a pretty simple process, given how many sites offer beat making programs.

The History of Rap and Hip Hop Music

,
Hip Hop Beat Programs :

The origin of hip-hop can be traced back as far as the ancient tribes in Africa. Rap has been compared with the chants, drumbeats and foot-stomping African tribes performed before wars, the births of babies, and the deaths of kings and elders. Historians have reached further back than the accepted origins of hip-hop. It was born as we know it today in the Bronx, cradled and nurtured by the youth in the low-income areas of New York City.

The History of Rap and Hip Hop Music

Fast-forward from the tribes of Africa to the ghettos of Kingston, Jamaica in the late sixties. The impoverished of Kingston gathered together in groups to form DJ conglomerates. They spun roots and culture records and communicated with the audience over the music. At the time, the DJ's comments weren't as important as the quality of the sound system and its ability to get the crowd moving. Kool Herc grew up in this community before he moved to the Bronx.

During the late sixties, reggae wasn't popular with New Yorkers. As a DJ, Kool Herc spun rhythm and blues records to please his party crowd. But, he had to add his personal touch. During the breaks, Herc began to speak to his audience as he had learned to do in Jamaica. He called out, the audience responded, and then he pumped the volume back up on the record. This call and response technique was nothing new to this community who'd been reared in Baptist and Methodist churches where call and response was a technique used by the speakers to get the congregation involved. Historians compare it to the call and response performed by Jazz musicians and was very much a part of the culture of Jazz music during the renaissance in Harlem.

Herc's DJ style caught on. His party's grew in popularity. He began to buy multiple copies of the same albums. When he performed his duties as a DJ, he extended the breaks by using multiple copies of the same records. He chatted, as it is called in dance hall, with his audience for longer and longer periods.

Others copied Herc's style. Soon a friendly battle ensued between New York DJs. They all learned the technique of using break beats. Herc stepped up the game by giving shout-outs to people who were in attendance at the parties and coming up with his signature call and response. Other DJs responded by rhyming with their words when they spoke to the audience. More and more DJs used two and four line rhymes and anecdotes to get their audiences involved and hyped at these parties.

One day, Herc passed the microphone over to two of his friends. He took care of the turn table and allowed his buddies to keep the crowd hyped with chants, rhymes and anecdotes while he extended the breaks of different songs indefinitely. This was the birth of rap as we know it.

Hip-hop has evolved from the days of the basement showdowns to big business in the music industry. In the seventies and eighties, the pioneers and innovators of the rap record was the DJ. He was the guy who used his turntable to create fresh sounds with old records. Then, he became the guy who mixed these familiar breaks with synthesizers to produce completely new beats. Not much has changed in that aspect of hip-hop. The guy who creates the beat is still the heart of the track. Now, we call him the producer. Even though some DJs work as producers as well as DJs (quite a few start out as DJs before they become producers), today's title "DJ" doesn't carry the same connotative meaning it did in the eighties. Today's hip-hop producer performs the same tasks as the eighty's DJ.
